Despite being bald and of the ginger persuasion, Duncan Watson survived growing up in the North-East of England with only a brain injury. His creative outlets, channelled predominantly into writing and music, show flair, intricacy, deep humanity and a touch of the fantastical. He is married to a tribal princess and has a four-year-old son from his first marriage.
Duncan is a published writer with poems and short stories appearing in a number of Christian and secular publications, as well as the entire output of Occupational Hazard Comics, illustrated by Nigel Maughan (formerly of the Viz).
Bookbag reviews described Mr Watson as:
“A man with the ability to snatch people out of space/time, he manages to outdo both Warren Ellis and Alan Moore in successfully pushing everything to breaking point.”
Duncan is currently collaborating with artist Brian Bicknell, a Boston, Massachusetts-based commercial artist and illustrator whose work has appeared in commercials and movies both in the United States and internationally. Brian has collaborated on projects for comics, graphic novels, book covers, television, and movies as a co-writer, illustrator, and storyboard artist.
Until a crisis of faith in his early thirties, Duncan was a “fire and brimstone” Baptist Christian. Repeated efforts on behalf of friends and family could not convince him of any reality beyond his own dogmatic ideation. It was this crisis and his subsequent occupation of a spiritual void however, that lead to Duncan’s status as a ‘perpetual-seeker-of-enlightenment-combining-religious-and-secular perspectives’. This resulted in Duncan achieving Enlightenment and forming an all encompassing theory grounded in Omni-religion-ism and the quest for world peace. This opinion and its non-confrontational communication, are the driving factors behind the Ratchwood Prophecies.
The advent of WiFi in the early 21st century marked a reduction in the similar acronym W.I.F.I. being used to describe Duncan’s component personality traits. Considering his warmth, intelligence, friendship and individuality, he was surely destined to become the WiFi man, fighting crime and doing good in the world. Alas his failure to patent this concept resulted in corporate monopolization of the information technology revolution we now know as WiFi. We accordingly lament Duncan’s parallel existence and his use of superhuman amiability to fight injustice.
