So the first two volumes of The Ratchwood Prophecies are currently available. Entitled Next Testament Volume 1: The Ratchwood Prophecy and Ratchwood Dilemma: 2nd Volume of Next Testament, they introduce the characters of Ratchwood, Wicklow and Vygotski. Journeys that will span aeons and story arks that will span volumes, begin to be chronicled, as well as those of vaguely connected supporting characters in their own exploratory stories.
Work is almost complete on Ratchwood Prophecies: Genesis. This third book of The Next Testament tells the prequel tale of how Ratchwood (Godchild) became Ratchwood (sex addict and rapist). Whereas the first two volumes comprised 3 issues each, Genesis will be the first to have four. All that remains to be done is for Brian to design an all encompassing cover for the entire volume and for it all to be sent to the publisher.
Meanwhile, writing is nearing the halfway point for Ratchwood Prophecies: In Actuality. A volume which will have only two issues in it and will represent the culmination of the development and undertaking of the eponymous prophecy.
If all goes to plan (which it rarely does) Genesis will be available at some point in the first half of 2018 and In Actuality, at some point later in the year. By the time we reach this point, I will have achieved the goal of seven years’ hard work, telling Ratchwood’s story. At times it may have seemed a little unfocussed but we a nearing the end of Ratchwood’s (foreseen) journey. Although I am very keen to do so, I cannot yet commit to revisiting Ratchwood in the future.
Over forthcoming blog posts in forthcoming weeks, I hope to bring you sneak previews of Volume 3 and more explorations and interpretations of the Ratchworld, but until then, keep the faith… there is a plan.
